Our Story

Mt. Angel Meat Co. began on June 1, 1908. It was incorporated on July 21, 1970. The business was purchased by Eric Fietz in 1999. For example, Eric started cutting meat at age 12. He learned from his step-father, Joe Blain, a WWII Navy veteran. Joe started processing meat in his garage. Then, he opened Blain’s Sundown Meat in the 1980s. Eric brought his expertise to Mt. Angel Meat Co. Also, Joe joined the team. He worked until age 88, retiring after 13 years.
